Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing is an advanced technique that involves printing designs onto a specialized film, which are then transferred onto fabrics through the application of heat and pressure. This method offers exceptional versatility, as it can be applied to a wide range of fabrics such as cotton, polyester, blends, and more. DTF prints are renowned for their robustness, boasting excellent resistance against fading, cracking, and peeling. This ensures that the printed designs maintain their high-quality appearance and durability over time, making them an ideal choice for various applications.

Pressing Instructions
  • No need to pre-press or pre-iron: Removing moisture isn't necessary. Only prepress if desired.

  • Align Your Design: Take your time to position your transfer in the desired spot on your item. Usually, heat-resistant tape isn't needed on flat heat presses to secure your design, but it's recommended for hats or when using an iron. You'll figure out when it's necessary.

  • Apply Pressure: Use medium pressure to press your transfer at 310°F / 155°C for 15 seconds. You can't harm the transfer by using more heat, pressure, or time -- within reason. However, excessive heat can damage your garment, so test first and use parchment paper or a protective sheet to shield your garment.

  • Let It Cool, Then Peel: After pressing, let your transfer cool until it's cool to the touch (at least 15-30 seconds). To speed up cooling, use our Fast Cool Peel Air Transfer Blower. Once cool, lift the transfer from one corner and gently peel back. Remember, don't use your hands, use your EYES. If the design doesn't fully transfer and it was cool when peeled, it means there wasn't enough heat, pressure, or time. Press again with more pressure and time (+5-10 seconds). If that fails, try increasing the heat by 15°F increments until you get it right.

  • Final Press & Washing Instructions: Place parchment paper or a single layer of t-shirt material over the design and press again for 15 seconds to soften the design, enhance durability, and remove shine. For a glossy finish, cover with a protective sheet for the final press.
  • When washing, turn the shirt inside out, wash in cold water, and dry on low heat or hang dry.
